Random ink

Slow weekend, so I thought I'd do a quick ink job just to update this tired old thing. Did this one all with markers. For some reason I find markers a cop out, but I've got some much more control and steadiness with 'em that I can't complain too much. Erasing is the real issue I have with markers as the ink almost always pulls off and you've got to go back and darken it up. That's all I got for now. Mafus and I will be hitting "30 Days of Night" in a couple hours and I'll blab about that later.

Looks good there Leaf. I prefer markers, only because I suck with a brush, and pen just tends to be too tedious for me, being a lazy ass haha.

Thanks. I suck quite a bit with the brush and pen as I'm very out of practice. I used to use a quills exclusively when I first started drawing and it took me awhile to kick that habit. (Mainly because I used to do crazy cross-hatchery that was all the rave at the time.)

Still working on mastering the brush marker, but I need some freshies as my tips are all blunt and nasty as witnessed by the Abomination inks. Ugh.

Oh you did NOT say you used to do cross-hatching......Glad that someone did an exorcism. THE POWER OF KIRBY COMPELS YOU.......THE POWER OF KIRBY COMPELS YOU.......THE POWER OF KIRBY COMPELS YOU.......

You're in a bad state when your tips are all blunt......that is an abomination.

Haha! Cross hatching really was WAY over done in the 90's. I was the same way. I still do it, but only if it works in the piece and that's very rare these days. I've been trying to do the Mignola-esque heavy shadowing, but can't seem to get it down right. Most of my work though doesn't get finished so I usually don't make it that far!

I think Mignola uses markers too. Nice footsteps to follow in.
