Two out of three ain't bad

Finally dragged myself away from GTA4 and started on the third assignment from Kubert. Some spelunkers in a cave checking out an unusual formation of crystals. (That's the middle panel, which isn't quite done yet.) The lady sees something she doesn't like. But what is it? Not even I know at this point, but it'll be showing its ugly mug before too long. Stay tuned, true believers.

hey man! how's the house coming? this looks pretty cool. i'd love to see where you take it in the final stages!

The house is progressing, Heywood. More furniture arrives tomorrow, but there's still boxes stacked (though their number is dwindling).

Probably gonna do a few Kubert exercises before I actually take ink to those panels, which I'll post. Thinking I'll try all quills and then switch to all brush, so expect those this weekend.

How's tricks with you?

Panel 3: "I can't believe it's not butter!"

hey let's see how many captions we can come up with here!

keeping up with all these annoying cell phone commercials:

'Who's using up our minutes again?!?!?!'

I had a decent caption for panel 3, but seem to have forgotten it. Guess I'll just steal a page from the Tick: "SPOON!"

Know what else I forgot? Where I packed all my brushes, quills and pencils. Found my Sumi ink, but can't find my inking implements anywhere. Maddening to say the least.

i didn't think of spoon that's a great one!

that sux about the supplies! hopefully you found them by now. on the topic of joekhisownself, did you pick up tor? man that guy's stuff is still phenomenal!

Still haven't found my supplies. Ended up buying a new brush and some quills. Dollars to donuts that I'll find my old stuff now. Oh well.

Heck yeah I picked up TOR. I don't think Mr. Kubert's lost a step. Still laying down a solid line and his storytelling is still top notch.

I say that a lot about quite a few aging artists that I like but usually, in the back of my mind, there's always that little voice saying, "well...maybe a little step." But, with Kubert, it's TRUE! He's really just as good as he ever was. The bastard!
