Sorry. Nothing new on the creative front. I've started and stopped so many times, but nothing really fleshed out on the paper. Mainly, 'cuz of my torn intercostal muscle. Turns out that I didn't break a rib. I broke down Friday and went to the doc for some x-rays since that pain was getting worse and I wanted to make sure nothing else was wrong internally. The x-rays came back sans fracture and I was then informed I'd gone the intercostal route, which is just as bad as a break. Science-time: Intercostal muscles are several groups of muscles that run between the ribs, and help form and move the chest wall. They hurt like hell when you tear them and take 3-6 weeks to heal. That concludes the science portion of this posting.
In the meantime I've been playing ASSASSIN'S CREED. I bought it on a whim, thinking I'd enjoy it, but not love it. Turns out I was wrong again. I don't think I've had this much fun playing a game in some time. I dare say that I've had more fun with AC than HALO 3. The whole stealthy, blade-in-the-crowd thing has grown on me over the run-and-gun gameplay of the Halo series. I've played probably 10 hours and haven't quite reached the halfway point. Usually a game takes me 6-8 hours to complete. The world of AC is too large to take in 6-8 hours. You've got three cities (Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem), the entire countryside between them and your own little guild's keep. Each city is then broken up into three districts with their own side-quests and investigations, which you can do the minimum of or maximum of. It’s open and free-roaming. Kinda the game that FABLE should have been. We’ll see since FABLE 2 is in the works and I think released next year.
That’s all I got. Wanted to post something as it’s been a week and the holidays are coming up. This’ll be Lilah’s first Turkey Day and we’ll be dragging her around to spread some holiday cheer. Get your bingeing pants on, people. Have a good one, everyone. Stay safe out there.

Crud!
You beat me to it on AC...will pick it up after the busy season...glad to hear its worth its weight...now...Kane & Lynch: Dead Men looks good...
I, on the other hand, have been doodling like crazy...thnk The Perhapanauts getting a monthly due has jumped the juices...and hanging out here, at Matt's blog, and Todd's helps a bunch as well...
I was eyeballing Kane & Lynch, too, but figured AC looked like Tenchu amplified, so's I went with my gut. Being a "blade in the crowd" is rather cathartic.
Torn between Blacksite and/or Mass Effect. Though I'll probably lean more towards the shooter over the RPG, though I've heard ME has some FPS portions.
Maybe I'll try some 'Nauts sketches. Can't do any worse than I already am and may even produce something worthwhile...
I have done some Perhapanaut pieces, just gotta tweak them a bit, and throw them up on the Image boards...
Think I'll try renting AC tomorrow...I gotta stop being cheap and go online with the 360...got a buddy who lives on it...then again, maybe its a good idea I stay away from that; would never get any sleep...
Leaf ruined my drawing resolve when he installed his spare 360 in my house. I couldn't stop playing MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE and now I'm hooked on CONAN. I've got DEAD RISING but the TV I'm playing on is too small to read the instructions. I'm afraid that's on the shelf until I get a better TV in my office.
Glad you're having fun, Leafinator. That rib thing sounds like it would suck all the joy out of life. And I'm hoping Lilah's holiday tour passes through the 'Ringo Ranch.
Matt!
I'm a zombie fan, and I know you dig it, so do not play Dead Rising...you'll loose precious sleep...
God, me and a friend played that game hours on end, just having fun killing zombies...one my levels got up there and I could punch through a dead guys/gals stomach and rip out entrails...I did about a hundred times in a row...too cool!
I'm afraid to play it again...might start the missions all the way through...
Yeah, I remember that disembowel move quite fondly. Wasn't there a move where you grabbed one by the feet and swung 'em around knocking everyone close on their arse?
Still get a kick out of putting those big Lego-looking masks on their heads and watching them stumble all around...until I knocked 'em all down with a bowling ball. Ah, slapstick humor even in the face of hordes of the undead...
Yeah, another good move...you have to let go or he looses balance for a brief moment...favorite weapon is the auger-type thing in the hardware store...just imaple, spin, and enjoy!
Showerhead in the dome was a nice touch too. Poor zombie ends up showering in its own blood. The augur was nice. Too bad I didn't find it until almost the end. Loved wielding two of the short chainsaws. Those things lasted forever.
Ha! You guys aren't helping!
Just trying to warn you of the addictive consequences...
