'Haps inks

Here's an example of how not to ink your friend's work. Completely lost my mojo with this pinup and Mafus'll be posting the pencils (colors, too!) shortly so you can see how bad I mucked it up. (No, I'm not fishing for compliments either.) I started with the old school tools and eventually broke down and went to markers. Just lost my confidence I guess. I dunno. It doesn't suck, but I wanted to do better I guess is what I'm trying to get at.

It's not as bad as you think. I can see where you went 'wrong' and all, but not too shabby. You did a better job on the Nova though. Alot better than I could've done though.

Leaf's being too hard on himself. I made a lot of mistakes in the pencils that he was stuck with. I tried to fix the things I screwed up digitally. We'll see, I guess.

"Fishing for compliments?" Is that a megalodon joke?

hey--!
don't make us come down there and beat YOU up too...!

you guys, this looks great and we're thrilled that you even did this for our little book!

christian--you made all the right choices where i woulda crapped it up completely--in the layers/depth/distance area...i woulda made it look so flat and two-dimensional. your inks really brought it out! nice job!

Y'know actually, I'm looking at this again, this time thru cold medicine free eyes, and it's better than i originally thought.(not that i thought it was bad, my other comment kinda came off that way it sounds, and that's not how i meant it) i really like the way you did the sky alot. while, yes i liked the nova more, this is still a nice piece.

Why, uh, yes, I did mean that as a megalodon joke, Matt. (Sheesh. I'm even missing my usual bad puns.)

Seriously, it was a blast until I became discouraged and even then it still was fun. So no more belly-aching and wallowing in self-pity on my part. (I don't want to suffer a Todd whooping.) Mistakes were made and hopefully learned from. Thanks again to everyone for the opportunity. We now return to our regularly upbeat postings...

Thast's me saying "wonderful" with a heavy german accent...could ya tell?

You and Matt have to stop beating yourselfs up over plain-as-day awesome work...

You're giving me self-esteem probs on my own work...;)

So...good stuff, lets see more!

Leaf-
I think it looks great.

If you think it's not, then my drawings really suck.
OK,so my drawings suck anyway, but this piece looks great.

The beatings have stopped because morale has improved. (Thanks for the kind words, everyone.) Gonna try to do a 'Haps sketch tonight and get some of that confidence back.
